US CA: LTE: Televised Antics Undermine County

Record Searchlight, 24 Mar 2013 – Oh my goodness, I have seen some stupid things on television, but the latest has really outdone itself. I’m talking about the Discovery Channel’s "Weed Country." I am all about Trinity County making some money off of marijuana grown here. But please, let’s look at a bigger picture here.

US CA: Editorial: Finality Needed In Medical Marijuana Debate

Porterville Recorder, 23 Mar 2013 – Once again Tulare County Supervisors passed a moratorium on the opening of medical marijuana stores, be those dispensaries, cooperatives or collectives. This is at least the third time the county has taken such action, but at some point the county, along with entire state, is going to have to make some serious decisions on marijuana, especially medical marijuana. Cities are also in limbo.

US CA: The ‘Green Rush’ Is Crushed

The Santa Barbara Independent, 21 Mar 2013 – Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Closed; Patients Left with Few Options At this point, it is hard to imagine, but just a handful of years ago, Santa Barbara had more medical marijuana storefronts than it did Starbucks coffeehouses. Now, after a perfect storm of local government regulation and high-profile arrests – coupled with multiple rounds of federal raids on South Coast dispensaries and threats of property seizures – this county has gone the way of so many others in California: It is now a cannabis club free zone. Whether you love them, hate them, or simply need one for help with a serious medical condition, the fact remains that there are no longer any legal dispensaries operating in Santa Barbara.

US CA: LTE: We Need More People Like Wahl

Chico Enterprise-Record, 22 Mar 2013 – I am glad that Larry Wahl is a friend of mine. He has many traits that I admire. He is a decorated military veteran who is proud to have served his country. He is a good, honest, decent man who has a backbone of steel. He has the guts to stand up for his convictions even though they may ruffle the feathers of some who would impose their will on others if not for men like him. He has been a beacon of light on many occasions as a solid supporter of those of us who are swimming against the tide of liberalism that is rapidly accelerating the deterioration of our nation. Larry has solidly stood his ground for many who have and will certainly become victims of marijuana growers whose goals are to grow, smoke or sell their product, one that our federal government says is illegal to do so.

US CA: LTE: Marijuana Vote Strikes A Nerve

Chico Enterprise-Record, 21 Mar 2013 – I and many others disagree with the March 14 editorial about Larry Wahl’s protest at last week’s Board of Supervisors meeting. I attended that particular meeting. Several items were removed from the consent agenda, allowing for discussion. It was a noble thought, the proclamation for the year of the child by Supervisor Maureen Kirk. But by her voting for the outrageous, large numbers of pot plants allowable in the marijuana ordinance, thereby throwing all who live in the unincorporated areas under the bus that includes children, the proclamation was hypocritical. Wahl had every right to bring that up. He had a good reason. Bashing him in the E-R was unfair. It was actually Supervisor Bill Connelly who threw a fit, a couple of times, concerning proclamations and resolutions. The Second Amendment was another heated exchange.

US CA: Column: How’s It Goin’?

Sacramento News & Review, 21 Mar 2013 – Colorado and Washington have legalized marijuana for adults. How is that going? – -Sara It’s going quite well, actually. The Colorado task force assigned to come up with recommendations for marijuana regulation has just ended, and the recommendations are now in committee. There should be a bill on the floor in a few months. Washington is still looking for a "marijuana czar," but the delay has been because it has received a ton of applications for the position.

US CA: Editorial: Wahl Comes Off As A Sore Loser

Chico Enterprise-Record, 14 Mar 2013 – Proclamations are a good form of community outreach by the supervisors. Larry Wahl cheapened one such honor for no good reason. Butte County Supervisor Larry Wahl threw a fit Tuesday at a board meeting. We certainly hope that’s out of his system, because the inappropriate eruption could be repeated several times a month if Wahl is looking for openings to keep rehashing an old issue.

US CA: PUB LTE: Try Talking To A Cannabis Patient

Chico Enterprise-Record, 14 Mar 2013 – Regarding Donald Polzin’s March 2 letter, "Pot fight no longer about medicine": The author, in his latest feeble attempt to bash cannabis, has once again shown his complete ignorance on the subject. Trying to isolate a few components and then put them in a pill is nowhere near as effective as using the whole plant.
