The Mail Tribune, 16 Dec 2012 – As Authorities Try to Nip OMMP Abuse in the Bud, Those Impacted Say They’ve Gone Too Far A FedEx box containing $29,920 of cleverly disguised cash bore Sherry Beveridge’s name on the label, and she had an intriguing story to tell the cops who wondered why it was there.
US OR: OPED: Tipping Point For Marijuana Legalization Is Here
The Register-Guard, 16 Dec 2012 – When I woke up on Dec. 6 I was surprised to find the sky was still there. It didn’t fall as predicted after Washington became the first state to once again have legal marijuana. Oregon didn’t fare as well. Measure 80 was defeated, but not by much. In Lane County 60 percent of voters said yes to legal weed (thank you, Lane County!). The statewide tally of 47 percent shines when we consider that the campaign raised only $60,000 while more than $6 million was received from supporters in Washington for their proposal, Initiative 502.
US OR: States Worry Washington Marijuana Will Drift In
Washington Post, 10 Dec 2012 – Portland, ore. – Now that marijuana is legal in neighboring Washington state, Portland police are offering some helpful advice to Oregon pot users. Sure, you can go over to Washington state to "smoke some weed," a police advisory states, but you might get arrested for driving under the influence if you’re pulled over coming home, even if you’re on a bike. And if you are among the 55,000 people with an Oregon medical marijuana card, Portland police say you’ll be able to get your allowed amount of medicine in Washington state. Still, even though you now can’t get busted for toking in Tacoma or elsewhere in Washington (though you could get a ticket for public use), it will be a year before selling or buying it is legal.
US OR: LTE: Legalize Pot? No!
Albany Democrat-Herald, 07 Dec 2012 – There are only so many steps on a ladder before you fall over. After reading a wasted page in your Dec. 3 paper, I feel you have fallen. "Strategy, timing key to states’ pot legalization" in my opinion was your last step in proving where the Democrat-Herald has gone. Down.
