Denver Post, 01 May 2013 – Re: "Could bill send pot up in smoke?" April 27 news story. Why is Colorado even considering a tax on marijuana when, under federal law, it is still illegal to use it? Can you really tax something that is illegal under federal law? Couldn’t the federal authorities still come and forfeit any and all assets for these marijuana violations even if sanctioned by the state? Would anyone passing such laws allowing marijuana use be prosecuted, money forfeited, assets held?
