Honolulu Star-Advertiser, 30 Mar 2013 – A federal judge denied defense requests Friday to dismiss the marijuana case against Hawaii island cannabis advocate Roger Christie, clearing the way for his trial in July. U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi issued an order saying the dismissal and other defense requests were denied. A more detailed order will come later, she said.

Honolulu Star-Advertiser, 08 Aug 2012 – Hawaii island marijuana advocate Roger Christie once again has lost a bid for his release while awaiting trial, scheduled for January, on federal marijuana possession and distribution charges. Christie has been in custody for more than two years since his arrest in July 2010, but U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi noted Tuesday that he faces three marijuana charges carrying prison terms of five to 40 years, and she said she was concerned about Christie’s ability to follow bail conditions if he is released.
US CO: Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Near Schools Ordered To
The Gazette, 03 Aug 2012 – U.S. Attorney John Walsh sent out ten letters to medical marijuana dispensaries within 1,000 feet schools in Southern Colorado Friday ordering them to close. This is the third wave of letters sent by Walsh within the past year ordering medical marijuana dispensaries near schools to close within 45 days or face prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Walsh’s office would not identify the ten targeted businesses.
