US CA: Yuba County Supervisors Say Compliance Is Key On

Appeal-Democrat, 19 Dec 2012 – Now that Yuba County supervisors have amended a medical marijuana growing ordinance to make it slightly less restrictive, the onus is on those who grow it to fall in line, supervisors said. Both supervisors John Nicoletti and Mary Jane Griego said it’ll be up to groups such as the Yuba County Growers Association to get information out there before a small-scale farmer gets a knock on his door from county code enforcement.

US CA: Yuba County Sheriff Targets Pot Growers

Appeal-Democrat, 29 Aug 2012 – While Yuba County’s controversial medical marijuana ordinance is being discussed in closed-door legal proceedings, county growers said they’re getting a negative message from law enforcement. Several times in the last few weeks, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department has raided growing sites across the county, even though those overseeing the sites were in compliance with state law, said Sam McConnell, president of the Yuba County Growers Association.

US CA: Sutter County In Haze About Medical Pot

Appeal-Democrat, 26 Jul 2012 – A day after Sutter County supervisors narrowly turned down a proposed nuisance ordinance for medical marijuana, board members on both sides of the issue said they would still like to see something happen. Supervisor Larry Munger, who supported the ordinance, said he has a simple solution when someone calls him to complain about a neighbor’s grow site: Give them phone numbers for the supervisors who opposed the proposal.

US CA: Sutter County Passes Medical Pot Ordinance On First

Appeal-Democrat, 25 Jul 2012 – The Sutter County Board of Supervisors moved one step closer to its own medical marijuana ordinance on Tuesday, with nary a contrary view aired by a meeting attendee. Still, two supervisors voted against the ordinance on its first reading, with Supervisor James Gallagher saying he had too many concerns about unintended consequences, including how it could be seen as the county giving tacit approval to marijuana growing.
