San Jose Mercury News, 12 May 2013 – The people of California voted for medical marijuana in 1996 ( Cartoonist’s view, May 9). What we have had instead is 17 years of undermining our vote by all levels of government. The use of zoning laws to regulate pot dispensaries out of existence is not a reasonable exercise of government regulations, it is an abuse of power to once again ignore the will of the voters, and sadly this is being done at the expense of sick and dying people.
