The Oakland Tribune, 10 Oct 2010 – On Nov. 2, Oakland voters will be asked to decide whether medicinal cannabis businesses in the city should pay $50 in tax for every $1,000 in gross receipts. That is nearly three times the supplemental sales tax rate they already pay and could contribute more than $1 million to Oakland’s general fund.
