North County Times, 22 Oct 2010 – The most vociferous opponent of the war on drugs was none other than Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize-winning economist, former economic adviser to President Ronald Reagan, and one of the most respected economists in the world until his recent death. So, what does an economist have to do with what is generally seen by most as a moral issue?
US CA: PUB LTE: Prop 19 a Worthy Remedy
Arcata Eye, 21 Oct 2010 – To all the ganja farmers, hustlers, bucket spinners and trimmers, First off, allow me to remind you that we all owe our livelihoods to this sacred plant. In fact, everyone in the Emerald Triangle, if not the entire state, benefits from this plant directly or indirectly on a daily basis. The huge down side to all of this is the thousands of lives being wasted in jail. On top of that, for every person in jail are families and friends paying the price. Millions if not billions of dollars are wasted enforcing these antiquated laws, and precious resources are wasted by growers trying to keep themselves safe; i.e. the garbage bags of fertile soil brought to the dump every day. Paranoia and secrecy abound, isolating communities and severing us from living our truth as we try to protect ourselves.

US CA: PUB LTE: End The Gravy Train
Anderson Valley Post, 20 Oct 2010 – Dear Editor I need to respond to the anti-Prop. 19 piece in the Oct. 14th edition. Marijuana is the largest cash crop in the state and nation. Not one penny is taxed. All those boat loads of money go right to the criminals.
US CA: PUB LTE: End The Bloodshed
Anderson Valley Post, 20 Oct 2010 – Dear Editor of the Anderson Valley Post, A NO vote against Proposition 19 (Anderson Council Votes ‘No’ On Proposition 19, Oct. 14, 2010) is a choice to continue unnecessary violence associated with a relatively safe, God-given plant due to black market realities. It’s a vote to continue enabling cartels and gangs to regulate cannabis (marijuana), rather than government. It’s for continued lost taxes for a product which is going to be sold in the future just as it has been for decades or longer.
US CA: Web: Pot Shots At Prop 19 Fall Flat
Huffington Post, 20 Oct 2010 – The Heritage Foundation recently published a legal memorandum that expresses alarm about the upcoming ballot initiative in California, Proposition 19, which would basically legalize cannabis. The paper warns that the measure will bring negative consequences–crime, birth defects, and social dislocation–so its analysis warrants a close read.
