US NJ: Tewksbury Township Man Is Not Among Those Patients Signed

Hunterdon County Democrat, 20 Aug 2012 – TEWKSBURY TWP. — Only a handful of patients initially signed up for New Jersey’s medical marijuana program. Township resident David Barnes, who qualifies for the program due to a debilitating digestive disorder, was not one of them, despite his desire to participate. In the past year, while waiting for the program to begin, Barnes has been to the emergency room four times after experiencing seizures. Meanwhile, his doctor of more than 15 years — who signed up a year ago with the physicians’ registry — experienced his own health problems and was forced to retire from practicing medicine.

US OR: PUB LTE: Let’s Legalize It

The Oregonian, 29 Jul 2012 – Like the majority of Oregonians, I don’t use marijuana. But I know a few who do, and they use it responsibly, much as most alcohol consumers use alcohol responsibly and most gun owners don’t misuse guns. Outlawing marijuana to force the minority to live the lifestyle chosen by the majority is what John Adams called "the tyranny of the majority." Tyranny is wrong, whether it comes from one person or many. Let’s do the right thing and legalize marijuana.
