US OR: PUB LTE: Time to End Prohibition on Marijuana

Estacada News, 06 Oct 2010 – I disagree with the Sept. 29 editorial, "Reject confusing marijuana plan." That’s exactly what Oregon and America needs to do, re-legalize cannabis (marijuana) and put an end to all the confusion Sophisticated citizens know cannabis will be re-legalized with no help from government. The present system used for sick citizens amounts to government subsidized extortion. Every facet of cannabis prohibition has been a harmful and embarrassing segment of American history.

US CO: PUB LTE: Legalization Of Marijuana Will End Government

Delta County Independent, 06 Oct 2010 – Dear Editor: I sincerely relate to Carol Pierce’s testimony (Letter: Medical marijuana is a beneficial option for sufferers, Sept. 29, 2010) concerning access to cannabis (marijuana) for sick citizens. My son endured leukemia cancer in 1997, and to be denied any information about how cannabis might help ease excruciating pain made me very angry and led to becoming a cannabis activist.

US CA: PUB LTE: Prop. 19 Deserves Support

Porterville Recorder, 05 Oct 2010 – Editor, Let’s not for a moment forget cultivating cannabis (marijuana) is, "like hanging 100 dollar bills in your front yard" (Council Waits for Prop. 19, Sept. 22), because it is unfairly prohibited. Prohibiting the extremely popular and relatively safe, God-given plant is the only reason for the artificial black market pricing realities, which cause unnecessary risk and danger. When was the last time a 17-year-old died from a gunshot wound received while reportedly stealing from an alcohol producer such as grapes from a winery?

US CA: PUB LTE: Illustrated Hypocrisy

Tahoe Daily Tribune, 03 Oct 2010 – Bruce Grego’s "Suffering slings and ‘pot shots’" is a perfect illustration of hypocrisy. Regarding cannabis (marijuana), Grego doesn’t like changing words, such as "drugs" to "medicine," "drug distribution center" to "dispensaries," or "drug users" to "patients." But it’s OK to refer to the God-given plant cannabis, not as a plant but rather a "drug."

US MT: PUB LTE: Marijuana Is Safe, God-Given Plant

Missoulian, 01 Oct 2010 – Cannabis (marijuana) has gone through more than enough scientific processes, including globally, to be approved as medicine. What "doesn’t make any sense" ("White House drug policy adviser questions Montana’s medical marijuana law," Sept. 25) is how blatantly the U.S. government uses lies, half-truths and propaganda to prohibit sick citizens from having access to the relatively safe, God-given plant. It would be biblically correct for the federal government to allow sick citizens to use cannabis since God indicates He created all the seed-bearing, plants saying they are all good, on literally the very first page (see Genesis 1:11-12 and 29-30). The only biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it be accepted with thankfulness (see 1 Timothy 4:1-5). And, "But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?" (see 1 John 3:17).

US CA: PUB LTE: Just Plain Wrong

Pasadena Weekly, 30 Sep 2010 – Reading ex-law enforcement officials support Proposition 19 ("Cops for pot," Sept. 16) helps create trust with the law enforcement community. It also helps people understand that many law enforcement personnel are afraid to speak out. Ultimately ending cannabis prohibition is a matter of what’s right and wrong. Caging and punishing responsible adult humans for using what God says is good on the first page of the Bible is wrong, plain and simple. STAN WHITE, DILLON, COLO. – — MAP posted-by: Jo-D

US CA: PUB LTE: Fight Prohibition Of Marijuana

The Salinas Californian, 29 Sep 2010 – The blatant discrimination and ignorance of cannabis (marijuana) prohibition has continued for too long (Sept. 21 article in The Californian, "Law officers divided on fight over legal marijuana"). A sane argument to perpetuate cannabis prohibition doesn’t exist. Presently employed police agencies and their unions and the California beer industry are acting on greed, for they stand to lose job security and profits. To believe otherwise defies intelligence.
